creativity is vitality

It is our life force. A gift from God. The Creator made us all creators, and creativity is one of the highest forms of worship. By honoring our creative nature, we are honoring the unique gifts, talents, and abilities God has given us. Through creative acts, we are engaging in one of the most authentic forms of expression, living our divine purpose, deepening our consciousness, creating change, and nourishing our inner and outer worlds.

A creative force, an entire creative energy system, exists within us. When we are born, this force is integrated and instinctive. It is as we grow and navigate the outer forces of family, school, society, and the overculture that this inner force and instinct becomes fragmented. These outer forces teach us that creativity is a waste of time, impractical, foolish, not respectable, will not pay the bills, and the list goes on. The focus of creativity shifts from purpose to profit, from connection to competition, from worship to worldly. Rather than passing through our vessel, this force becomes stuck inside of us. We become creatively blocked.

This block, this being stuck, presents itself as many faces, including depression, anxiety, a feeling of inadequacy, fatigue, and a lack of purpose/meaning. This is our soul calling us back to our creative nature. One of the greatest journeys we can embark on in this life is healing our relationship with creativity and reintegrating this creative force.
